The worlds fastest and most
efficient aircraft de-icing system
The Elephant® Beta
The original design and unsurpassed quality of the Elephant® Beta guarantees the lowest expenses per operation and ultimate flexibility in serving any type of aircraft.
The Elephant® Beta is built on a standard truck chassis and offers a vast array of options to make it the best de-icing system in the world.

The core concept of the Elephant® Beta is to provide the operator with the shortest spray distance and largest operating range. The long reaching telescopic spray boom enables fast and effective operation while minimizing fluid consumption. The concept enables minimum truck positioning and maintains a safe distance from the aircraft.
The main lifting boom operates vertically above the centerline of the unit. The concept provides an unmatched stability even in the most harsh working conditions and positions.

The boom extends to a maximum length of 10 m (33) and provides a vertical nozzle reach of 19 m (63).
The Elephant® Beta is excellent for remote de-icing. This is increasingly attractive as todays modern airports demand time reduction between de/anti-icing and take-off to reduce the required hold-over time. This not only reduces glycol usage, but eases the glycol collection.
The operators cabin easily holds two persons. It is ergonomicaly designed to provide operator comfort for extended periods of operation. Together with the unit stability it provides the operator with unsurpassed working conditions and an excellent view.
The nozzles unique manoeuvrability allows backwards spraying towards the operator, enabling wing de-icing from the trailing edge of the wing without spraying towards flaps, rudders etc. Safety antennas are placed on the boom to avoid damage to aircraft.
Elephant® Beta-15 version facilitates the de-icing operation at ultra heights. Max. eye level 15.5 m (51.0'), max. nozzle height 23.5 m (77.1').
Elephant® Beta-15
The telescopic spray boom on the Elephant® Beta has been redesigned to provide a nozzle spraying height of 19 metres. The new design features an enforced an more rigid construction of the boom with a 60° lifting angle and a new slewing gear arrangement. Apart from an extended vertical reach, the new version also provides more controlled boom movements with less slackness.
The new slewing gear arrangement uses the stronger slack-free cyclo gear and has an internal slide coupling that minimizes the potential structural peak stresses produced e.g. when an emergency stop is activated.
