Forced Air System

Forced Air Systems are available on the Elephant® Beta, Elephant® Gamma and Elephant® My deicer units.

The Forced Air System makes up a valuable supplement to conventional aircraft de-icing, as a pretreatment/ snow removal procedure, before aircraft de-icing fluid is applied — by the same de-icing unit. Thereby usage of significant amount of ADF is spared, implying both environmental benefits and cost savings.

IMPORTANT PARAMETERS

As air speed drops significantly with increased distance from the nozzle, and as the Forced Air System effectiveness also depends on air flow and pressure, it is imperative to keep a short distance to the fuselage.
All the Elephant® deicers facilitate the shortest possible gap (3 - 5 feet) between the highly manoeuvrable nozzle and the treated surfaces on the aircraft.
